"we do not remember days, we remember moments." - cesare pavese

first, let me start by saying this isn't a fashion blog. or a tutorial/crafty blog. or a cooking blog. this is an honesty and rambling blog.

I originally started this blog with the intention to get myself to write every day. over the years it has served many purposes - from a master cleanse diary to a place to post my poetry month challenge poems. I have, in the past, attempted to give moments of being a theme - following suit of other popular blogs. but in the end, I have realized that this blog is meant to be about what its name proclaims - my life, my every day, my moments of being.

the name for this blog came from a concept virginia woolf defined in her essay sketches from the past. she said that moments of being are those in which we experience what is reality. it is the time when we are most conscious. it is living awake, aware, and in the now. my goal here is to capture those moments -  the ones that are profound and the ones that are superficial and nonsensicle.

a note on my spiritual practices: as you may have read or figured out, I am a "hare krishna". this can mean a number of things to different people. what it means to me is that I believe krishna is god, and I worship him as such. what it doesn't mean is that I want to use this blog as a platform to preach or convert people. when I write about my life, it is natural that I will write about krishna and things that have to do with being a devotee because it is an intrigal part of who I am. I will do my best to define terms that may be unfamiliar to non-devotees. I am long past being fanatical and crazy, I promise. most importantly, I want you to know that I in no way affiliate myself with the International Society of Krishna Consciousness, though I do attend many ISKCON functions and temples. I am not a representative of ISKCON, nor do I claim to be an example of how ISKCON defines itself. if you have questions, please feel free to comment or contact me.
